[Life is in the Details™]An original "Lincoln Highway" sign survives on the PA side of the Calhoun Street Bridge. The highway was created between 1913 and 1925 by the Lincoln Highway Association. It established the first signposted and mapped automobile route from New York to San Francisco. In the background, you can just see the lights of Trenton on the left, and the green trusses of the "Trenton Makes" Bridge to the right center, beyond the footpath which tops a levee that protects Morrisville from flooding. |
