Earth-Friendly, "Green" Design
Lowers Your Cost of Ownership

Trenton is located on the "fall line", where the Delaware shifts from a pure, fresh-water flow to a tidal estuary. It is an urban center surrounded by suburban sprawl. Trenton Ferry condos are much more environmentally friendly than typical suburban developments. Your condo uses less resources, enables you to reduce your dependence on automobiles, and will save you money year after year.

Historic Preservation

GreenAll Trenton Ferry condos are created by adaptive re-use of existing structures. Imagine the impact on land-fills had these beautiful buildings been torn down instead of renovated, and the waste of energy and raw materials to re-build them new. Historic preservation is inherently "Green"!
Photovoltaic Ready
Trenton Ferry Condos have been designed for use with photovoltaic systems, which generate power from the sun. The Cracker Factory will use photovoltaic power to light, heat, and cool common areas. Every condo unit is pre-wired with a power connection to the roof, and can be purchased with a photovoltaic system now, or upgraded later.* CLICK HERE TO CHECK OUT PHOTOS OF THE INSTALLATION
15 SEER** Electric Heat Pumps
Every Trenton Ferry condo has been equipped with a 15 SEER electric heat pump for central heating and cooling, among the most energy efficient on the market. 15 SEER is 15% more efficient than required by code for central hvac systems, and 30% more efficient than typical window air conditioners. They are more cost-effictive to operate than typical gas heat pumps, and can take advantage of energy generated by photovoltaic systems to reduce greenhouse emissions.
Insulation and Energy Efficient Layouts
All Trenton Ferry units have upgraded insulation, including substantial insulation under roofs, and brand new thermal windows. Windows are among the most efficient on the market, with double glazing, Low E coating, and argon gas to improve insulating performance. The dense urban configurations of Trenton Ferry condos are inherently more energy efficient that the "fully detached" pattern typical of suburban development. Since both sides of a shared wall are heated, energy loss is reduced.
Energy Star Appliances
Green
Appliances specified for Trenton Ferry, base and options, are Energy Star Compliant, including refrigerators, dishwashers, and microwaves. This ensures that they are among the most energy-efficent on the market.
Reduced Water Consumption
Green
Trenton Ferry condos have been designed to reduce water consumpton compared to conventional design. Every unit comes equipped with a front-loading, condensing washer/dryer. This uses substantially less hot water than a conventional washer. Toilets are Watersense certified. They use 1.28 gallons/flush (20% less than a typical 1.6 gallon unit), and are equipped with "flapperless" valves that elminate tank "run-ons".
Transit Friendly The City of Trenton is extraordinarily well served by mass transit options. The NJ Transit bus #607 passes right by both condos along Centre Street. The Trenton Train Station platform is 0.7 mile and 0.9 mile from Everett Corner or the Cracker Factory, respectively, making a pleasant walk for rail commuters. This station provides access to commuter trains serving New York/Newark and Philadelphia, as well as AMTRAK to Boston and Washington. The light-rail, "Hamilton Avenue" stop of the River Line is even closer, 0.4 and 0.5 of a mile, respecitvely, providing service to Camden, with connections to Philadelphia.

*The Cracker Factory has adequate roof exposure so that every unit can potentially be upgraded to photovoltaic power. Some Everett Corner buildings do not have sufficient roof area to upgrade every unit.
**SEER - "Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio" , a standard for measuring energy efficiency developed by the Air Conditioning And Refrigeration Institute and adopted by the US government for regulation. The higher the SEER rating, the more energy efficent the unit.
